Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe older sister, Dr. Patience, has burned down her mother’s home out of extreme resentment.
Dr. Patience’s accusations that their mother was a witch and use her witchcraft to harm her, in advantage of Mercy, her other popular daughter, are the source of contention.
She also said that the elderly woman would not help her pay back a loan of N800,000 that she had taken out and needed to pay back.
The house in Lagos’ Adebayo Mokuolu street, directly across from the Anthony Village Recreation Center, is said to have been set on fire by Dr. Pat, severely destroying it so that nothing could be salvaged.
People who live nearby say that the house belonged to their mother’s deceased husband, with whom she had only one child, a son.
She was living in the miniature duplex that her son, Dr. Pat’s half-brother, had been given by his father.
The building is separate from the main building across the street, where other apartments are.
Fortunately, the fire did not affect the other apartments that belonged to the deceased man’s other children from his previous marriage.
Dr. Pat reported the incident to the police after the building was burned down.
Their mother was said to be with Mercy when she started burning the house, and she later came to the house with her in a black SUV to look at the damage.
People’s suspicions that Dr. Pat had planned to burn their mother if she was in the house that morning were confirmed when she was heard shouting that she was the one who would kill them.
People in the area claimed that she had been showing signs of mental instability for some time and that her mother was holding her back from progressing.
The elderly woman’s children, to whom she was married, are now concerned that Dr. Pat might return to do even more damage to their father’s property if they do not take swift action against her.

As things stand, Mercy’s mother cannot return to her home because it has been completely destroyed.
Residents had awoken earlier on Friday, September 30, to the screams and noises of Dr. Pat, who had gone on a rampage and destroyed her mother’s car.
Her mother, who has arthritis, stayed inside while her irate daughter tore up her car and yelled at her.
After her daughter had left, the older woman came out to look at the damage to her car’s windshield, wipers, and front and back lights.
Many people were shocked to see the clearly enraged woman abuse her mother and yell “destiny stealer” at her as she destroyed the car.
She had left the house for Mercy’s out of fear that her life was in danger, so this might explain why she wasn’t there when Dr. Pat came back to set the house on fire.
Dr. Pat and Mercy, according to those in the know, are in fact half-sisters, with the same mother and different fathers.
